Plaza Gardens closed until early 2027: where to book a character meal at Disneyland Paris

Plaza Gardens Restaurant, on Main Street, U.S.A., has been closed for renovation since April 2026 and will not reopen before early 2027. Until then, four restaurants still take bookings for a meal with the Disney characters: Auberge de Cendrillon, Royal Banquet, La Table de Lumière and The Regal View Restaurant.

Disneyland Paris announced the works on 12 April 2026 on its news site. The restaurant's own page carries the same notice: temporarily closed for renovation until early 2027. On the official list of restaurants it shows as closed, with no booking button.

What the closure takes away

Plaza Gardens served an all-you-can-eat buffet in the oldest building on Main Street, with the Disney characters coming to the tables. Its page describes two meals, a breakfast and a dinner, with adult and children's menus.

The works are extensive. Disney plans a full overhaul of the flooring, the facades and the roof, a modernised dining room and kitchen, and a new palette of greens inside and out. No reopening day has been published: both official sources stick to "early 2027".

If you are planning a stay this autumn or over the festive season, take Plaza Gardens off your list. No table will open there before the works are finished.

The four restaurants that remain

The official Disneyland Paris list files four restaurants under "Character Dining", all bookable online as of 25 September 2026.

Auberge de Cendrillon, in Fantasyland, inside Disneyland Park. Table service, French cuisine, with the princesses. It is the closest alternative to Plaza Gardens by location: you stay inside the park.

Royal Banquet, at the Disneyland Hotel, at the park entrance. All-you-can-eat buffet, French cuisine. Its format is the closest to Plaza Gardens, with a buffet rather than table service.

La Table de Lumière, also at the Disneyland Hotel. Table service, French cuisine.

The Regal View Restaurant, in the second park, Disney Adventure World. Table service, international cuisine.

Two of these are at the Disneyland Hotel, outside the parks. The other two require a ticket for the park they sit in. Check each restaurant's page for the meal served on your date, since the services vary from one restaurant to the next.

How to book one of them

The rules are the same as they were for Plaza Gardens. You book on the Disneyland Paris website or app, with your own Disney account. The calendar opens two months before the date for visitors without a Disney hotel, and as soon as the stay is booked for guests of a Disney hotel. Disney notes on its pages that some restaurants open their bookings later.

Character meals sell out first. Hotel guests often book before the calendar opens to other visitors, which explains dates that show as full on the day they appear.

Booking is free and can be cancelled freely. Disney itself asks visitors to cancel when their plans change. Tables therefore come back into the calendar all the time, often the day before or the morning of the meal. A date that shows as full can open up again until the last moment.

For a date in 2027

Plaza Gardens will only take bookings once its reopening date is set. Since its bookings will follow the two-month rule, the first table can appear sixty days before the first day of opening at the earliest.

If your trip falls in the first quarter of 2027 and you are set on this restaurant, keep a booking at one of the other four.
