Booking a Pic du Midi overnight stay happens on the "Nuit au sommet" page of picdumidi.com, in a calendar where you pick your arrival date and then your departure date. The Pic du Midi asks for the full price of the stay at the time of booking, by bank card only, and offers cancellation insurance as an option. The official page warns that bookings are made "several months (or even years) in advance".

The Pic's public calendar, read by GetTable on 26 October 2026 for the nights from 1 December 2026 to 31 October 2027, shows:

• 335 nights checked;
• 38 nights closed to sale: 1 to 3 December 2026, 11 April to 14 May 2027, and the night of 11 September 2027;
• 297 nights on sale, 8 of them with at least one double room free;

The double-room nights still free that day were 4 December 2026, then 17, 19, 20, 24, 25, 26 and 27 May 2027. These figures move every day: a cancellation puts a room back on sale, a booking takes one off.

Pic du Midi overnight stay price

The price of a Pic du Midi overnight stay was €409 for a double room and €339 for a single room, according to the rates read in the Pic's booking engine on 26 October 2026. The Routard guide gives a price from €399 for a double room and from €339 for a single room.

According to the official page, the rate includes:

• the cable car rides to the summit;
• the visit of the Pic du Midi, panoramic terraces and exhibition space;
• a planetarium show;
• sunset and sunrise, weather permitting;
• the bistronomic dinner;
• breakfast, served from sunrise until 8.30am;
• the evening and morning astronomy sessions, with a visit of the scientific quarters.

The tourist tax is included. The Pic du Midi states that a request to change or cancel a booking may incur fees, set out in its terms and conditions of sale.

Sleeping at the Pic du Midi: how the evening runs

To sleep at the Pic du Midi, you must report to the Comptoir du Pic in La Mongie before 4pm to collect your access tickets; your room is ready from 2pm and must be vacated before 9am the next morning. The evening starts with a welcome drink, then sunset, dinner and stargazing with a guide, including access to the Charvin dome and its 400 mm telescope.

The rooms are former astronomers' rooms, with a 140 cm double bed, a washbasin and a view over the Pyrenees. Toilets and showers are in a separate area, shared by the rooms on the same floor. The programme ends mid-morning.

A few conditions to know before booking, all taken from the official page:

• the Night at the summit is not suitable for children under 8;
• no room is adapted for people with reduced mobility, and the rooms are reached by stairs;
• the altitude makes the stay inadvisable for pregnant women and people with heart conditions;
• if the weather prevents access to the summit, the Pic du Midi offers to move the stay, and refunds the booking in full if no new date is possible.

Pic du Midi overnight stay fully booked: how to get a room

When the Pic du Midi overnight stay is fully booked in double rooms, three routes remain open.

The first is the single room. The official page says so itself: by taking one or two single rooms, you will find dates sooner. The 26 October 2026 reading bears this out, with a single room still free on 262 of 297 nights.

The second is the Pic du Midi's own alert. Its page has an "M'alerter !" button: you leave your contact details and the Pic lets you know if a room comes free at the last minute, for guests who can travel at short notice.
